Being indecisive can affect others but not as much as it affects the person themselves, who is indecisive.

Cancelling or flaking out on people affects the other people who were planning more than it affects the flaker.

Is there a deeper truth behind a purpose?

Who gets angry at someone for how a person's life was saved
This boggles my mind.
Saving a life or saving their own ego?

Only day 2

So it is only day two back of the short week after the long weekend and holiday Monday.

And I have had a total of 2 pts yell at me.

One, without an appointment and would not clarify why they wanted a walk-in. Two, demanding something that is not under their coverage.

Happy happy Joy Joy.

Ugh. Only two more days left.

The longest week ever!

On a side note:

When the whole purpose of their movement and advocacy was basically to "save lives", yet they berate and attack the people who actually SAVED the life of someone near death and get mad at them for calling 911, it makes me question which is their priority - saving lives or their own ego? You cannot choose both when someone's life is at risk.

self confidence

Yep something I definitely struggle with.
Especially since I am so aware of trying to not be arrogant instead, which often gets mistaken for confidence.
I came across this random sponsored add on Insta and liked it so much that I stopped the podcast to send it to a friend - then it disappeared.

BUT - I finally found it!

With all the empty advice and hokey "feelings" I see in a lot of coached preaching -
this one, I found genuine, and explained so well. A lot of good bits in here.

Clearing out all the other chaotic thoughts and just

... believing in your capability of achieving something....
... confidence is not a limited amount in the world, there is enough for everyone to have...
These bits stuck in my head.

This was a gem of a random find....

Ray Lamontagne - Shelter (Amazing Version)

Weird. Did not see this post until now.

Funny how songs can take you to a place so far away and bring up emos so out of context.

Some song writers are amazing. Makes you wonder what their personal lives are like to feel and express such emotion.

Hopefully more truthful and genuine since they own that song...

As opposed to our own real lives ha...

I can only imagine that real love involves the ability to fully allow yourself to give all of yourself to a person, guards and defenses down, and to have that person take all that and be kind and gentle and thoughtful and caring to all that you give them.. and vice versa of course.

Law of Effect

I stumbled upon this term today in some random article in Psychology today.
Are you teaching people to treat you badly?

I find it interesting because I have always heard the "Turn the other cheek" kinda story or the Bible's "give them the other cheek" or the idea that "kindness will overcome unkindness".

Which can really mix people up.
And it can perpetuate a shitty relationship that can in turn eat away at a person's self worth and confidence.

On the other hand, retaliating back against bad behavior can also escalate the bad behavior as well or it can stop it.

This goes along with the discussion my gfs  and I had this weekend about meditation and yoga and being detached from the world to find what god means (a common theme in many religions).
One of my gfs refuted an idea that was presented in saying "well then if you let it go or forgive, you end up being just a doormat, how do you stop those people from treating you badly?"

And to mix more ideas into this theme, there is the idea of forgiveness.
Sometimes it is hard to forgive because one feels that to forgive is to excuse the bad behavior or to accept it as ok. Which I learned is apparently the wrong idea about forgiveness.
I have heard that Forgiveness of another person or situation is not for the other person who made the offense, it is something you do for yourself.

All very deep things to think about and all somehow related to each other.

The Law Effect states that Behavior varies as a function of it's consequences.

So if we apply the above strategies of turning the other cheek - if a person can act unkind to another and not be reprimanded and maybe even be treated more kind - they may not change at all and continue to think how they treat someone is ok.

If you look at it that way you can say "oh of course! who would be nicer to someone after they were treated meanly by that person, that is just silly"

BUT it happens.
A person acts up or snaps at another, the other person makes some reason in their head like - oh they must have had a bad day and then they treat them more sweeter to ease them from this bad day.
Or a kid throws a tantrum because they do not get what they want so the parent feels bad the kid is crying and upset so they hug them and console them after.

Anyways, it is interesting to try to decipher when a situation would be good for "turning the other cheek" or actually asserting against the bad behavior/unkindness.
