Ok. I tried. When I started this blog it was meant to be light and airy and just kinda about the everyday mundane things, to highlight something nice about my day or thoughts.
Who was I kidding. My thoughts arent like that everyday.
My day started off by looking up some images of skin diseases online, this was because yesterday this patient came in with these odd lesions on his lower leg... I could have sworn I saw a pic of that somewhere in some text book....
Anyhow, then my mind drifted.... as I walked past the waiting room I didnt look up and went straight to my room .... I recognized an odour coming from the waiting room. It was my patient's husband. I didnt even have to look up and I knew it was him.
He is a nice man but his feet REEK. I mean its like rotting garbage (as opposed to non rotting which isnt too bad, but garbage in itself is bad. This was rotting garbage).
My mind drifted some more....
His breath stinks too. He can kill a skunk with that breath. Its like dont explain anything just write it down or mail a letter.
So this is what I came up with - in my odd thoughts of the day:
If we didnt maintain ourselves as human beings - brush our teeth, bathe, clean our feet, clean our underarms, wash our hair, wipe our asses, clean our genitals, wash our clothes etc etc... if we were to just live.... eat, poop, pee, breathe, and live our daily lives without basic hygiene............we would indeed reek. But animals in the wilderness just live - dont they? They have minimal cleaning habits but they just continue on with their lives eating , pooping , peeing, and they dont reek right?
Well as far as I know, they dont reek, cause I havent exactly smelt a bear or hugged a lion or anything like that before. But still.... are we human beings meant to just stink like rotten garbage?
Weird.
Ok back to the light stuff on my next post. promise
